Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL), located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, is under the jurisdiction of the Liaoning provincial government. DUFL was officially founded in 1964，now having one PhD Program in Northeast Asian Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs, 3 first-level master's programs in Foreign Languages and Literature, Chinese Language and Literature, 18 second-level master's programs and 6 professional degree programs and 43 undergraduate majors covering 15 foreign languages. Nearly 15,000 students are currently enrolled in the university.
DUFL is awarded as the Chinese president office of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the chairman unit of Liaoning Confucius Institute Cooperative University Alliance. The university has multiple international platforms including the Chinese and Russian students exchange base and International Chinese Education practice and research base of Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education.
DUFL is designated to take in international students sponsored by the Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, and Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship. The university has passed the quality certification of study in China by the Ministry of Education, with the title of Liaoning Provincial Model University and Advanced Unit for International Students Education. Every year, DUFL enrolls more than 1,500 international students from nearly 70 countries such as Russia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Armenia and Italy.
School of Chinese Studies,
School of Chinese Studies (SCS), founded in 1985, is the main teaching unit of International Chinese Language Education and International Students Education of DUFL. SCS is a supportive department to International Chinese Education practice and research base and Liaoning Provincial Model University for International Students Education. It serves as examination centers of HSK and CTCSOL tests. Every year nearly 1,500 international students from more than 70 countries study at SCS for short-term or for long-term courses, or for Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor's degree programs.

Supporting Target
1.Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China and be in good physical and mental health.
2.To apply for a master's degree, a bachelor's degree is required. And the age is not more than 35 years old.
3.To apply for a doctor's degree, a master's degree is required. And the age is not more than 40 years old;
4.Applicants who have applied for or obtained other scholarships are no longer eligible to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS).
Funding Content
Subsidize students' tuition, accommodation and living expenses during their study in China. According to the regulations of the scholarship administration department, funds are offered according to different student types and criteria.

Application Procedures
1.Login the website(http://www.campuschina.org)to register. Fill in the application form and upload the application materials as required.
2.Mail the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form generated by the system and the paper version of the above application materials. The notarial materials need to be mailed in the original. The graduation certificate and degree certificate need not be mailed in the original. If the mail is not available, please contact our office.
3.Applicants who get approved and obtain the scholarship recommended by our university will receive the Pre-admission Letter issued by our university.
4.Applicants who have obtained the Pre-admission Letter shall upload it to the individual application system.
5.For the applicants who have obtained the scholarship qualification, our university will issue the formal Admission Letter and visa application materials to the applicants.

Please print the application form automatically generated by the system and mail it together with the application materials. The application form should be filled in Chinese or English. The address, contact number and email address must be filled in with the applicant's personal information.

4.If the applicant is a student in school, please submit the notarized expected graduation certificate issued by the school where he/she is studying (the expected time of obtaining the degree should be earlier than August 2023), and submit the original graduation certificate and the degree certificate for review when registering. If he/she cannot obtain the degree on time, the admission qualification will be cancelled.
5.If the applicant is currently employed, please submit the original certificate of incumbency issued by the employment unit.
6.Study and research plan: no less than 800 words in Chinese or English. Please carefully write the research plan and state it from your academic background, research experiences and achievements related to the applied major, research plan and objectives.
7.Two Recommendation Letters signed by professors or associate professors. The letter shall have the signature, seal, contact number and email of the recommenders.
8.Physical Examination Record for Foreigner and blood test report (one copy for each). The originals will be kept by yourself. The form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments and must be written in English. Please take the originals with you when you come to China. Incomplete records or records without the signature of the attending physician, and the official stamp of the hospital are considered as invalid. The examination results are valid for only 6 months.
9.One copy of valid passport. The applicant must submit a clear scanned copy of the first page of his/her ordinary passport with a validity date later than September 2024. If the current passport does not meet the requirements, please issue a new passport in time.
10.Notarized Certificate of No Criminal Record: The applicant must submit a certificate of no criminal record within the validity period issued by the local public security organ, which is usually within 6 months before the date of submitting the application.

2023 Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies (MCCS) at Silk Road School
Renmin University of China (Suzhou).
Silk Road School was launched in Suzhou campus, Jiangsu Province, in 2018. It has enrolled 212 students from 64 countries during the last 4 years with the support of all parties. They followed the courses of Master of Contemporary Chinese Studies (MCCS) at Silk Road School in Suzhou, a two-year English master’s program. There are four available specializations such as Chinese Politics, Chinese Economy, Chinese Law, and Chinese Culture. Graduates will be awarded the RUC Diploma in postgraduate Studies and the degree of Master of Laws. During their stay, students will be given access to a privileged range of cultural and academic experiences, from travel to all corners of China to exchanges with global leaders and mentorship with experts in their chosen discipline. And it is expected to enroll around 50-80 students this year.

Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship / Ph.D. Program in China
China Study Program, Renmin University of China
Since 2013, the “China Study Program” (CSP), sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, has supported more than 800 international students in areas of humanities and social sciences to pursue their doctoral degrees in Chinese universities or to do fieldwork in China.
CSP provides individualized training programs for each candidate and offers generous fellowships to cover the cost of research, fieldwork, and living expenses in China. By offering opportunities for collaboration with prestigious professors in 18 key universities in China, this program brings in-depth learning and research opportunities. Ph.D. candidates registered in an overseas university are eligible to apply for a “Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship," and those who have obtained a master's degree and are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in China may apply for the “Ph.D. Program in China." Students with Chinese citizenship are not eligible for this program.

四、申请条件
（一）非中国籍公民，身心健康；
（二）学历和年龄要求
1.申请攻读硕士学位者，应当具有学士学位或同等学力，学习成绩优秀，年龄一般不超过35周岁；
2.申请攻读博士学位者，应当具有硕士学位或同等学力，学习成绩优秀，年龄一般不超过40周岁；
（三）语言要求
攻读硕士、博士学位者，中文水平原则上至少达到汉语水平考试（HSK）四级；
（四）申请人应当同时符合所申请院校在学术能力及其他相关方面的入学要求。
五、申请流程
1.申请人通过“留学中国"网站或其他途径查阅中国院校及相关专业信息，确定申请项目和申请院校及专业；
2.申请人联系中国院校获取相关录取材料；
3.申请人联系相关申请受理机构获得推荐资格；
4.申请人登录“中国政府奖学金来华留学管理信息系统"（http://www.campuschina.org），在线填写《中国政府奖学金申请表》并提交所需申请材料；
5.申请受理机构向国家留学基金管理委员会提交推荐人选名单及申请材料；
6.国家留学基金管理委员会组织有关院校和专家对推荐人选进行资格和学术审核，确定录取人选；
7.国家留学基金管理委员会通知申请受理机构录取结果，由申请受理机构通知申请人。
六、申请材料
1.申请人须在2023年3月31日之前提交《中国政府奖学金申请表》（在线填写）；
2.护照首页。申请人须提交有效期晚于2023年3月1日本人普通护照的首页清晰扫描件，如现持有护照有效期不符合要求，请及时换发新护照。对于因客观原因无法在提交申请前办理护照的申请人，经受理机构允许后，可提交包含本人“英文姓名、性别、国籍、出生日期"等信息的有效证件或证明文件；
3.经公证的最高学历证明。如申请人为在校学生，须提交本人就读学校出具的预计毕业证明或在学证明；
4.学习成绩单。中英文以外文本须附经公证的中文或英文的译文；
5.语言能力证明。申请以中文为专业教学语言的申请人须提供有效期内且与相应中文水平要求相符的HSK成绩报告。申请以外语为专业教学语言的申请人应根据学校要求提供相应的语言能力证明，如雅思或托福成绩单；
6.录取材料。申请攻读硕士学位、博士学位者和申请作为普通、高级进修生来华学习者应提供申请院校出具的录取材料，可包括录取通知书、预录取通知书或导师邀请函等（录取材料将作为中国政府奖学金优先录取的文件之一）；
7.来华学习或研究计划。（本科生不少于200字，进修生不少于500字，研究生不少于1000字），用中文或英文书写；
8.推荐信。申请攻读硕士、博士学位者和申请作为高级进修生来华学习者，须提交两名教授或副教授的推荐信，用中文或英文书写；
9.个人作品。申请攻读艺术、设计类等专业者，应提供个人作品类材料（如影像、绘画作品等）；
10.来华学习时间超过6个月的申请人，须提交《外国人体格检查表》复印件（原件自行保存，此表格由中国卫生检疫部门统一印制，须英文填写）。申请人应严格按照《外国人体格检查表》中要求的项目进行检查。缺项、未贴有本人照片或照片上未盖骑缝章、无医师和医院签字盖章的《外国人体格检查表》无效。检查结果有效期为6个月；
11.无犯罪记录证明。申请人须提交由所在地公安机关出具的有效期内的无犯罪记录证明，通常应为提交申请之日前6个月以内的证明文件。

2023 Ph.D. Fellowships of China Studies Program of Xiamen University
The Ph.D. Fellowships of China Studies Program were established by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, which united with China's top universities and outstanding scholars, and is committed to providing opportunities and support to overseas young scholars and doctoral programs for studying in China. The program includes the Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship and the Ph.D. in China Fellowship. Xiamen University is one of the 18 Chinese host universities.
The majority of financial support is provided through support for specific research and other projects in designated academic areas of Humanities and Social Sciences. Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship: This program funds overseas outstanding doctoral students registered in foreign universities coming to China for study, research and writing of their doctoral dissertations, for one semester or no more than two academic years.
Ph. D. Fellowship in China: This program supports overseas outstanding master's degree holders in pursuing doctoral degrees at Chinese universities. It is 4 years according to the university's academic requirements.

III. Eligibility
1. The applicant should be a citizen of non-Chinese nationality in good health.
2. Those who aspire to engage in China-related research in humanities and social sciences and have solid academic foundations, a targeted research topic or goal, and the ability to conduct research in Chinese, with preference given to those with excellent Chinese language proficiency under the same conditions. Specifically as follows:
(1) Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship: Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK) Level 3 or above; Officially registered doctoral students in regular foreign universities.
(2) Ph. D. Fellowship in China: Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK) Level 5 with 210 scores or above; A graduate with master's degree, or a fresh graduate of master's degree.
Note: Applicants for English-medium programs should also meet the Chinese proficiency requirements above besides the English proficiency requirements of XMU English-medium programs.

IV. Application Time & Procedures
1. Applicants are required to log into the CSP Application System (http://www.chinese.cn/page/#/pcpage/csp), complete the online application, choosing Xiamen University as the host university before February 28, 2023 and mail the original application form and all other materials (in English and Chinese) as required to Center for Language Education and Cooperation.
2. Applicants should also submit the online application on the International Student Application System of Xiamen University (http://application.xmu.edu.cn) before February 28, 2023. Usually no hard copies of application materials are required by Xiamen University.
(1) Application category for the Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship: "exchange student - senior scholar".
Documents to be uploaded: proof of enrollment in a PhD program, abstract of master's thesis or other research results, doctoral dissertation abstract, study plan during your stay in China and other documents required by the system.
(2) Application category for the Ph. D. Fellowship in China: "doctoral degree programs".
Documents to be uploaded: those required in Prospectus for Admission to Doctoral Programs of Xiamen University.
Note: Applicants should finish online application on both systems above. Late applications will not be accepted.
V. Selection and Notification
1. Candidates' qualifications will be assessed by Xiamen University.
